Singer also announces release of new album “Collapsed In Sunbeams“.
The singer was chosen by BBC Music as their artist of the year as hype builds around her upcoming new album ‘Collapsed In Sunbeams‘.
In a tweet, Parks said: “Guys I’m the @bbcintroducing Artist of the year!!! I remember uploading my DIY Soundcloud demos to BBC introducing when I was 16 and still at school – what a full circle moment – hope my story acts as a reminder that beautiful, big dreams can and do come true! I’m so overwhelmed.”
With reference to her new album due to drop, she said: “my album is a series of vignettes and intimate portraits surrounding my adolescence and the people that shaped it. It is rooted in storytelling and nostalgia- I want it to both feel universal and hyper-specific”
On her new single “Green Eyes“, the singer said: “This is a song about self-discovery, self-acceptance and adolescence. It is supposed to uplift and comfort those going through hard times”
Her debut album is highly anticipated and has generated a phenomenal amount of buzz and for good reason having already released songs of quality in the shape of “Hurt“, “Black Dog” and “Eugene“. Check out the new video for “Green Eyes”, a track from her forthcoming release below.
