In a twist, Turkey extends its hand to Ukraine.
As Russia amasses thousands of troops near its border with Ukraine , Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stressed that both Russia and Ukraine must honour a ceasefire agreement struck in 2015.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said – “I informed the Turkish parties in detail about the situation in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine — Donbass and Crimea — in particular about the violation of human rights on the peninsula and its ongoing militarization”.
Urging both parties to honour the ceasefire agreement, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said “We hope that the worrying escalation that we have observed in the field recently will end as soon as possible” he continued saying that Turkey “strongly defended Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty”.
