‘The Anthem’ – perhaps, an unofficial Hip-Hop ambassador

In celebration of Hip-Hop’s 50 years of true artistry, we are unearthing some forgotten material.

It is a song of ability, aspirations and no less a war chest of lyrical endeavor. Filled with A-list features, The Anthem from Sway & Tech’s This Or That recruits names that were both known and unknown in the field at the time. In retrospect, their ability forced industry figure heads to take note of their talent casting a net of invites to further features and record deals.

Featuring RZA, Tech N9ne, Eminem, Xzibit, Pharoahe Monch, Kool G Rap, Jayo Felony, Chino XL & KRS-One, the music video is as surreal as the content, with production of the track matching those present without overshadowing one another.

If anything, producer’s Sway & Tech aided the elevation of artists present to further fortify their credentials with verses of note slapped down by legends Kool G Rap, Xzibit, Tech N9ne and Pharoahe Monch finalized by an energetic crescendo from KRS-One.
