New Nintendo movie looks phenomenal and as true as can be to the video games.
Despite Chris Pratt’s undeserved casting as Mario (I’d rather see Charles Martinet in the role), Illumination Studio’s rendition of the Mushroom Kingdom appears to be a feat of sensory overload. Featuring the magnificent Rainbow Road, red shells and trademark jump sounds, the Nintendo licensed film looks to be all it promises.
Appearing to cram a lot into a realm that is as fantasy driven as it gets, it looks like the promise of an exciting motion picture for all is taking shape. The plot follows the Italian plumber brothers as they travel through a strange world with the same story we are privy too in all the franchise’s games – save the Mushroom Kingdom and Princess Peach from Bowser.
The film also stars Anya Taylor-Joy (Peach), Charlie Day (Luigi), Keegan Michael Kay (Toad), Seth Rogen (Donkey Kong) and Jack Black who pulls off an incredible rendition of the main antagonist.
