Pusha T’s latest diss had Jim Jones laughing, but for all the wrong reasons. We explain what happened.
It began when Jim Jones told The Breakfast Club that Pusha T didn’t deserve a place on the top 50 greatest rappers of all time list and asked the hosts to “sing along to five Pusha T records right now”. A fair point in which Jones also said Pusha is able to “rap his ass off”. But despite what appears to be a rather balanced viewpoint, Pusha still took aim at him.
Now, Pusha T is a great artist and is always on point when it comes to his music, though his diss game needs a little work, and by a little I mean a lot and there is little impact here.
Jim Jones’ retort was to laugh Pusha T off, and despite his response being appropriate, it doesn’t mean he has won. Pusha’s latest jab sounds more like another song than a diss, and its lack of direct message only serves to allow others to come at him.
If you want good examples of phenomenal disses, think of Nas when he said: “Rockafeller died of AIDS, that was the end of his chapter.
And that’s the guy y’all chose to name your company after?” Eminem is another artist who absolutely rips apart his opposition, just look at where Benzino is now.
However, Pusha’s effort was to simply deliver another song that didn’t even mention Jones’ name, but instead made veiled threats. Is Pusha going to dispose of Jim Jones with lines like “there’s no tombstones in the desert”? I doubt it. So, without calling him out and failing to get personal, it’s just another way of stirring up drama for the Clipse man.

Jim Jones responded with his own diss, though not as dramatic, was effective in its own way. But still, it’s not something we will remember anytime soon.
