About the magazine

With a focus on culture, film, music, news and the unheard

The name ‘Stanisland’ (pronounced Stanis-sland) is an amalgamation of the word ‘Stan’, meaning ‘land’, and the name ‘Stanislav’, a common eastern European name. As equally similar as they sound, it highlights the idea of how similar we all are.

So on this site, you’ll find a library of internal compendious gup-shup jibber-jabber, and hopefully something of value.

It has developed into a portal of many things including climate change, unique observations, identity, music, humanitarian efforts, mental health, but most importantly – identity based on personal experiences.

If you’re submitting music, we tend to sway towards Hip-Hop though accept any genre. Our ratings are strictly reserved for albums. EPs aren’t considered for ratings due to their short length but are reviewed.
