5 of the Best Skate Videos You Can Watch Online

We rank our top five favourite skateboard video productions, all available to stream online for free.

Skateboarding, especially the street genre, has always been filled with wonder. Sidewalk surfers the world over find inspiration from videos created by board manufacturers, so we listed the best you can watch online right now.

5. Transworld – Modus Operandi

One word – DOPE! Transworld outdid themselves with this one. Along with some epic fails the crew managed to pull off some incredible stunts and take things to another level. It features among others, Danny Garcia,

4. Birdhouse “The End”

Legends Tony Hawk and Bucky Lasek split screens with astonishing proficiency and show why they’re the best at what they do. Insane grinds on high railings to explosions (yes, maddeningly good pyrotechnics) are on display, not to mention the soundtrack is top par.

3. Misled Youth – ZERO

Featuring Matt Mumford and the incredible scenario-defying Jamie Thomas, Misled Youth pulverises its athletes and hypnotically charges each scene into an outing that asks the viewer to cyclically watch it again and again. Though the skills on show are executed to a high standard, the soundtrack is a bit of a letdown.

2. Photosynthesis – Alien Workshop

This is a slick and expertly crafted skate video which includes some well edited cuts in both colour and black and white. The technical prowess on show is undeniable, where the viewer feels pulled into the video, dragged back to an era where skateboarding had a fine balance with video production.

1. 20 Shot Sequence

Featuring the exploits of some of the biggest names in the game, including Clyde Singleton, Jason Dill, and Gino Iannucci, it’s an artistically driven film, and features some of the best Hip-Hop of its time, including music from Redman, Method Man, Kool G Rap, Keith Murray, and even one Shaquille O’Neill.

Featuring gifted skaters, the overall feel, and soundtrack make it essential viewing. There is just something about it that screams for you to watch it on repeat. That’s exactly what I did back in the day. ‘20 Shot Sequence’ is a quintessential must-watch 90s skate video.
