One the UK’s most underrated talents shows up for the Mercury Music gong.
Loyle Carner’s Hugo has been nominated for a Mercury Music Prize, one of the most prestigious awards for up and coming artists.
In a statement released via Instagram, he said: “beautiful news. Hugo has been shortlisted for the Mercury Music Prize. Proud of my people man. Take these words and go forwards!!!”
For some time now, Carner has been overlooked by the industry, including his peers within the UK Hop-Hop community. But what Loyle does on the mic has shown through for some time now, garnering acclaim from many outlets. Thankfully, the talents of LC on Hugo are being recognised for what they are, and perhaps next will be an opportunity for the London born artist to thrive.
Who else has been nominated for the Mercury Music Prize?
