Heavy listening: The Music We Are Bumping In The Office

Playlists are always welcome. Our picks are some of the hottest music out there right now and/or are still circulating the scene.

In our latest round of what’s up in our ears, we list the tunes that have caught our eye of late, for a mood altering state.

Ez Mil – ‘Up Down (Step & Walk)’

Re-released for his latest album, Aftermath and Shady Records’ latest signing Ez Mil plates a decent outing where he dances himself stupid, discussing the qualms of clubbing and women.

Josh Vine – ‘Do Your Get What You Want From Me Now’

The man does it again. One of the best singer-songwriters out there right now is tearing it up on his guitar as we move closer and closer to his debut album release. Plucking strings and doing what he does best, Josh Vine gifts us another incredible song with his astonishing voice.

Vard – ‘Major Sound’

The man from Sheffield re-released his classic noise making anthem Major Sound, with a prolific video to match. In a rough edges production, Vard demonstrates his ability to rip mics and slay speakers.

Young Fathers – ‘Geronimo’

Not so long ago, the Mercury Music Prize nominated artists shared their first song in four years. The artists said Geronimo is a “…track about contrast, because life is contrast – pushing through, giving up, all at the same time. Wanting everything and then wanting nothing.” It is what it is – a great listen.

Karl Sage – ‘Dorian Gray’

One of our favourite wordsmiths Karl Sage unleashes furious flows and a penmanship unmatched by many. But on Dorian Gray, the Lifelong Records rapper sends out a challenge few can match.

Scrulove – ‘Tamagotchi’

He’s never slipped up from what I can recall. And the man-bunned smooth flow spitter reminisces on bygone days we all like to keep with us against a clubby beat produced by yours truly. A top track.

Nas – ‘Michael & Quincy’

The veteran rapper of 50 years of age is still out rapping the younglings, schooling from a far on a track that likens his partnership with Hit-Boy to Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones. On a solid beat with a dangerous flow, the knight of the lyric table retains replay value once again.
