Nieve Ella – ‘Lifetime Of Wanting’ | Music Reviews

Ella’s new EP proliferates a new understanding of her genre dishing up better, though familiar sounds.

Pop music seems to have gained a new found respect in recent times. Nieve Ella is one such artist embracing this, capitulating to its better standing for an increasingly better genre landscape.

In her new bittersweet offering, Ella constructs rhythmic ballads that frame her as both the protagonist and antagonist, thanks to a naturalistic narrative she embeds within each song.

On His Sofa, she weaves an internal monologue, thriving on conflicting terms for separation bound by the manner of her actions. Car Park lifts the project’s tempo into soundtrack territory where Ella puts her foot down on the pedal within the speed limit, comfortably accenting a terrific outing.

On Lifetime Of Wanting, she prepares a dish for the listener in need of mature audio, through acoustic signals that, in a good way, intrude on any mood. It pounds the ground to green light her credit, mashing a variety of deliveries into each production.

Throughout her five track EP, there is an air of Sunday atmosphere that billows and weaves itself into any playlist, especially if one is unable to decide what it is they’re looking for.

Though there is much to like on this new EP, it can feel a little similar to other releases of the same genre, leaving a residual feeling that this sound has been done before. Either way, fans of her music will no doubt enjoy it.
