Sans Soucis and Charles – “Mexico City” | Music Reviews

Trio release new music with upscaled funky pop and a journey in song to galvanise your weekend.

The Italian-born Sans Soucis, partners with UK artist Charles, collaborating at the now intriguing programme of the famous London studio, encouraging unique music projects. This time around, the two worked with Austrian producer Cid Rim to formulate their latest romp “Mexico City.”

The duo’s release pushes upbeat music following another “Lock-In Session” at Abbey Road Studios, culminating in the release of their reverse-engineered track, rumbling with sci-fi sounds of 80s funk and background 90s hip-hop elements, generously compiled into an easily likeable pop narrative.

The track works up an angle with very little to contemplate except for a fun outing, something not heard in recent days, and is a welcome departure from the woes of heartbreak and cliche stereotypes in the genre. It is a great remedy for escaping yarns of wooden songwriting, with exciting vibes strung across its entire canvas.
