New Tom Hardy film expands new Focus Features flick into a better scan for what is to come.
Set in the midwest, ‘The Bikeriders’ is a 2024 drama film that follows the rise of a motorcycle gang as it shakes down adversaries and essentially anyone who gets in their way. It follows the crew’s fall from grace as they fail to retain a sense of who they are.
The screenplay is based on the fictional novel of the same name by author Danny Lyon. Based on Focus’ latest preview, if the book is worthy enough to be turned into a motion picture, perhaps this adaptation will fall short. It is bad form to base expectations on a short form advert, but through trailers, apples rarely fall far from the tree. And the demonstration on show here feels like a meagre effort by Hollywood’s error prone modern machine.
The film stars Tom Hardy, Michael Shannon, Austin Butler, and Jodie Comer. It is due for release in cinemas this June.
