Black Fondu’s ‘SB 13’ Is Art “From The Future”

By throwing the rulebook out the window, he conceptualises new ways to perform by redefining artistic boundaries.

There is too much out there right now. By that, I mean the market is saturated with unapologetic trash, where the author of each piece of music fails to score points for their art, releasing work only in the name of vanity.

But on the horizon is another kind of artist, described by one viewer as being “from the future,” and that is what he seems to be. Imagine you are receiving transmissions from beyond the plain of sight, where the frequencies are different but only marginally so. Now conceive that what you’re hearing is from an ethereal location – that is Black Fondu.

Who is Black Fondu?

He’s a London-based musician, equipped with an arsenal of techniques to make his music effective, which includes high tempo performances that mirror his work.

Known simply as ‘Reggie’,’ he has kept his surname private, and we think that’s great. He has been described as many things, from an experimental rapper, to an abstract grime and hip-hop artist.

Authentic music, real art

His debut track, available only on YouTube, is a flurry of performance art and premeditated sentiments consistent with the workings of a visual and lyrical composer.

It is difficult to find such substance that broods significant differences, thanks to a hugely accessible music scene akin to a club bouncer letting just about anyone in. Maybe that’s a good thing, maybe not – it depends on you. Black Fondu decided to skip the club and make his own rules.
