Hezbollah Leader Killed By Israeli Air Strike

Air force strikes that destroyed at least four residential buildings in Beirut have killed Hassan Nasrallah.

The Lebanese group Hezbollah have confirmed that an Israeli airstrike has killed its leader, Hassan Nasrallah.

As part of the assault, a total of 85 bombs were launched on the capital, Beirut, leaving hundreds dead in their wake.

Many civilians fell victim to the bombings, but Israel maintains they achieved their goals. At least four residential buildings were reduced to rubble in a densely populated part of the city.

Karaki Dead

Tel Aviv say their air force targeted its underground headquarters, where they also say they claimed the lives of several other leaders, including Ali Karaki.

The military’s top brass Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, who earlier told troops they must prepare to enter Lebanon, commented on the strikes.

In a televised statement on an Israeli national network, he said: “anyone who threatens the state of Israel, we will know how to reach them — whether in the north, in the south, or even in more distant places”.

United Nations General Assembly Speech

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu yesterday addressed the United Nations General Assembly claiming the country only wants “peace”. This is despite his refusal to attend ceasefire and hostage negotiations. To protest his speech, many diplomats walked out.

The death toll in Gaza has now risen to 41,000 people. In Lebanon, 700 have now been confirmed dead.
