Kanye West announces new album with song ‘Beauty And The Beast’ to a private audience.
Chicago’s outspoken producer/rapper started his career in prolific fashion, but since ‘DONDA’ dropped, the steep hill he climbed, remains so going down.
But, Kanye West, now known simply as ‘Ye’, announced a follow up to his ‘VULTURES 2’ album, titled – ‘BULLY’.
Fans And Collaborators Give Their Opinion
Mike Dean, who has mixed several West projects, chimed in with his opinion via Instagram exclaiming “donda leftovers”. While others said “buckle up” and “yeezy’s back alright, 100”.
At the Wuyuan River Stadium in Haikou, China, West announced to a packed audience “I got a new album coming out. The album’s called ‘Bully’, and this song is called ‘Beauty and the Beast’.”
His preview of the new project pursues a pop-laden rift and is tame in comparison to recent efforts. It thematically explores tenacity and the strength of character.
But, if this is the tone set for the project, then commiserations to his fans. The once lauded hip-hop artist has taken a sharp 180 degree turn from his former exploits.
However, inconsistencies in the quality of West’s work remain wanting. His new projects are a far cry from earlier triumphs, and many are sceptical of how the new album will turn out. Perhaps Ye is struggling to transition to a landscape that is far removed from his earlier conquests — unless it is a stubbornness carried over.
Adjustment Issues
Despite his early adoption of auto-tune, its lasting impacts do not align with current trends. With music lovers shifting towards a new generation of artists, the rapper is failing to adjust to stylistic changes.
Ye’s domination of the 2000s leaned heavily on ideas stemming from his identity, which is now largely vacant from his current palette. So, for now, we will have to put up with something else – a metamorphosis gone wrong.
