Compton rapper showcases fresh sound, blending a mainstream mood with G-funk appeal.
Snoop Dogg is on a roll right now. Having already trickle-released two singles, he has dropped a new radio-friendly song titled Another Part of Me.
The track features legendary singer-songwriter and lead vocalist of The Police, Sting. Also making an appearance is his partner-in-rhyme, Dr. Dre, for a fusion of West Coast hip-hop meets rock.
Secret Fans
Snoop has a deep admiration for the former Police frontman, and following an encounter in which the singer complimented the rapper’s music, we can only surmise that this led to a conversation about a collaboration.
Put together with the two artists’ work on the popular TV show The Voice, the beginnings of a new relationship were likely formed.
What It Sounds Like
Incorporating a velvety vocalisation, Snoop effuses his trademark laid-back Westside accent over a collection of string instrumentals reminiscent of a 1980s feel.
It’s an upbeat vibe, one already present in Broadus’ recent compositions, all in keeping with the Doggy Dogg brand.
Things started off a little slow, but following the icon’s reveal he has since raised the stakes with the second taster Out of The Blue, featuring Alus, rhe first being Gorgeous with Jhené Aiko.
Verdict
Another Part of Me is looking like the torchbearer of the album. Given the quality of the work already unveiled, we can expect his upcoming long play will be quite the body of work.
Snoop’s efforts so far surpass his previous projects, thanks to a shift in audible aesthetics and a long-overdue proposition.
Where to Buy Vinyl Records and How To Stream Online

The song is released via Death Row Records and Aftermath Entertainment with an official vinyl and compact disc (CD) version available for pre-order.
