Fresh R&B single taken from the British singer’s upcoming album Jupiter, releases today.
Described as a “gift” to fans, All of Me from Nao (Neo Jessica Joshua) is released today as part of the regular Friday flurry of releases.
Taken from her upcoming album Jupiter, it aligns with the album’s themes of hope, joy and connection in contrast to much of the industry’s stereotyped concepts.
In this new composition, the musician channels subjects of a blissful nature, crafting motifs to persuade conduits of an imaginative disposition. It is a fantastic continuation from her first two singles, Elevate and Wildflowers.
What It Sounds Like
Compared to the singer’s previous releases, All of Me slows it down in a display of variety, showcasing the vocalist’s multilayered artistry. Lyrically, there is less introspection and more self-discovery on this optimistic ballad, as the R&B creative opts for clarity in a minimalist approach to her music.
Sonically, Joshua demonstrates a light shift in tonality compared to her earlier albums. This slight reorienting motivates regular listeners to engage further with the artist, as she refreshes her delivery for a more accessible, yet expressive, medium of sound.
Verdict
Compositionally, this bare bones approach is triumphant in many ways, primarily in how her new mode supplies fans with a rhapsody of openness that even the uninitiated can appreciate. There’s a powerful inquiry of self as she navigates themes of explorative love and the novelty of meeting someone new.
Nao speaks from the heart and summons past experiences to provide music lovers with an emotionally relatable life event we can all identify with . This is executed with a clinically accessible timbre and parallels the range of mezzo-soprano, albeit with an aspirational flageolet register. Ultimately, this record is effortlessly likeable and tees up anticipation for her soon to drop long play.
