‘Soopaman Luva 7’ – Redman Unveils Timely New Song

The Funk Doctor Spock’s smooth superhero returns just in time for new album Muddy Waters Too.

Hip-hop lovers all agree on the likability of Redman and the carefree attitude he exudes. Updates from his camp recently revealed the upcoming album Muddy Waters Too and three new singles.

Noble’s commitment to the craft is unwavering, having dropped lyrically complex and humorous projects over the years. He continues a long held tradition in Soopaman Luva 7, his ongoing rap series which began on his debut LP Whut? the Album.

Release Details and Background

The Funk Doctor Spock revealed the 7th installment of the series will be available on the same day as his new album, the sequel to his critically acclaimed 1996 release.

Tomorrow he unveils his ninth studio long play, alongside the new Soopaman Luva song. It follows the comedic antics of a superhero who explores his love of hook ups through his lyrics.

Originally featuring samples from Johnny Guitar Watson’s Superman Lover and Curtis Mayfield’s Give Me Your Love, the series was inspired by Slick Rick’s Children’s Story and EMPD’s Jane. These influences heavily shaped Red’s series of funny anecdotes, which will continue on Tuesday 24th December.

None of the songs have had an official single release; number 7 marks the first time Redman has given it such prestige, with it receiving an official music video.

Chico Debarge ft Redman and Erick Sermon – Soopaman Lover

The closest the series has come to receiving the visual treatment was Chico Debarge’s rendition of the track titled ‘Soopaman Lover’ featuring Noble and Erick Sermon. With a slight alteration of the song’s name, the singer joins the series with his own smooth version.
