Doechii Hits With Skill On ‘Nosebleeds’ After Enormous Grammy Rave

Award-winning hip-hop artist takes home prestigious rap album prize, turning to her rhyme book to celebrate.

Touching on her meteoric rise to fame, she releases a controlled flow of episodic lamentations at her critics. She doesn’t hold back in this blunt and hard-hitting outing for the new kid on the block.

What is Nosebleeds About?

Spitting over a Jonas Jeberg production, the Floridian rapper takes aim at her critics dousing them in a fire-breathing brand that only she knows. This war cry is a playful pot shot, letting her adversaries know who’s in charge, as she continues to gut and rebuild following her trophy win for the best long play.

Hot off the back of her stratospheric triumph, Hickmon is full of confidence, parading style and direct messaging over metaphors. In the song, she references Kanye West‘s famous award win speech for the same prize. Verbalising her excitement, she takes aim at her detractors, “Guess you’ll never live to see the day that Doechii loses.”

Verdict

Short and sweet, rather than posing as a full-length track, it gets directly to the point. Both the lyricist and the producer do their job well.
