Tariffs: This is How Much a New iPhone Now Costs

New sweeping tariffs of 104% are set to dent Apple’s revenue, and increase the price of an iPhone.

Thanks to tariffs implemented by Donald Trump, the cost of an iPhone is set to significantly rise according to experts.

China responds to tariffs implemented by the United States.

Given import costs increased to 104%, it was obvious the world’s favourite product of technology was going to be hit hard.

China Tariffs Cause iPhone Price Hikes

Dan Ives of Wedbush Securities said the rise in cost will be cataclysmic, referring to it as, “flipping a boat upside down in the ocean with no life rafts.”

The current retail price for an iPhone 16 Pro Max is $1,199. But when adding Trump’s import costs, prices soar to an approximate $1,874. That’s a whopping $675 increase.

Other experts believe Apple will raise costs by 43% to offset American reciprocal tariffs. If production moved to the USA (particularly New Jersey or Texas), Ives believes the estimated listing will be $3,500.

Apple are yet to respond to rumours of price increases and changes to their revenue model.
