The Atlanta based rapper targets low hanging fruit on his new hip-hop album.
Start as you mean to go on, that’s how most classics begin. But on Ken Carson’s new album, More Chaos, his approach reflects something of the opposite.
As a sequel to its predecessor, there were expectations it would live up to its hype. However, that album too, was found wanting.
What More Chaos Sounds Like
There’s a pervasive, thematic sprawl of ambient snares on this fresh release, but little to engage the listener.
More Chaos’ title really does do what it says on the tin. Following a thorough listen, we can safely say its inferences showcase no innovation other than an influence to switch it off.
Honestly, it feels like it’s chasing clout, using autotune as a vehicle to repurpose a bygone wave of trends. I mean, it’s 2025, and there are still rappers using it as a gimmick for 95-100% of their albums. Please, just stop!
The Verdict
Ultimately, Carson buries any manifesto to favour a stylistically idiosyncratic effort. It looks straight past the notion of crafting artistic brawn, stabilising itself on the back of antecedent tropes.
It’s repetitively irritating and tickles a funny bone when recalling certain memes like below.
Where to Stream and Buy Vinyl
