Attractive Km5 ‘Hp1’ Headphones Are a Minimalist’s Dream

Km5’s new retro-meets-modern audio tech are a lightweight solution.

Over-ear headsets tend to be bulky, heavy and difficult to carry. After a fatiguing day, the last thing you want is to add to this exhaustion. Japanese audio brand km5 have launched a solution: The Lightwear Headphones Hp1.

The Km5’s retro design is reminiscent of the Sony Walkman.

Built around a sleek, futuristic aesthetic coupled with a simple Walkman-style finish, the brand has signalled they truly know their audience.

Wireless Retro Design Headphones

The on-ear headset weighs a surprising 103 grams, and is designed to be paired with the Instant Disk Audio Cp1 CD player, another work of km5 art.

Its blocky, minimalist design adorns the appearance of the brand’s new drop, and helps bridge both a modern and retro aesthetic. Highly reminiscent of Sony audio gear, it will both ignite nostalgia and excitement for new gear.

The headphones are minimalist in appearance.

Its design pairs contemporary technology with a throwback feel, including Bluetooth 5.4, transparency mode and noise cancellation, as well as 24-hour playback. It features magnetic ear cushion cups that can be switched out when needed.

What’s in the Box?

The Hp1 comes with (of course) headphones, a dedicated USB-C cable (charging/wired connection), replacement ear pads, and carrying pouch. However, a charger is not included. The fresh cans look stylish and sound good with a build made for studying, and mobility without adding to your load.
