New film trailer from Universal Pictures gives the franchise a CGI execution
A hunter, a scientist, a family, a father, experiments, a guy wearing glasses, crappy CGI. Yes, all these clues point directly to Jurassic World Rebirth, a Universal Pictures attempt at reviving a dead horse they’re trying to beat. These traits apply to every movie in the franchise (bar number one).
Audiences seem to have given up and lowered their standards. They’ve accepted that the worst movie effects are simply commonplace. I assure you, there is a better way in a world where production companies don’t push and rush their creatives. This time, Scarlett Johansson takes the plunge in a film that will ultimately be forgotten.
Trailer Reaction
Surprise, surprise – fans of the saga love it, while movie aficionados hate it. One social media user said:
“The first trailer was awful. This one makes it look almost like another movie. Though that’s probably because it didn’t focus as much on dialogue and story.”
One moviegoer expressed his frustration:
“I am whelmed. I think the best thing for these films is to never make another one.”
While another exclaimed:
“Never thought I’d look back on Jurassic Park 3 as fondly as I do now.”

Referring to other films in the series, one commentator nailed one of its major issues:
“Believability is not the issue, plot-wise — but utter nonsense, no stakes, and charisma black hole characters who are never in danger make for two absolute snoozefests.”
Nothing in this trailer is working—except for a few clips of excitement—the rest is tiresome, formulaic and fears to step outside of its comfort zone. Little screams classic Jurassic, and, like most reboots, it’s lost its shine. Let’s all thank the hack studios and their executives who put out straight-to-video quality like there’s no tomorrow.
The Verdict
There appears to be feeble stakes motivating the characters—stakes the writers think will engage the audience. But with so much recycled material in an attempt to play it safe, we’ve been here before. What’s new? Nothing.
Can’t we get a fresh take on the prehistoric story? Perhaps a pack of carnivorous dinosaurs—like velociraptors—escaping into a city, wreaking havoc on the population? We know these surroundings; this is our safe place, which will resonate more with fans than another isolated island narrative we’ve seen time and time again. Get real, Hollywood–or get out. The only thing saving this film is the curiosity factor.
