Vans Drop Big Sneaker With Epic Designer Yusuke Hanai

Global skate wear powerhouse reveal plans for a dope clothing line and shoe release

Global footwear brand Vans has announced an official collaboration with Japanese illustrator Yusuke Hanai. The design is inspired by 1950s-1970s surf culture, fused with a chill counterculture vibe. The release will also coincide with a capsule clothing range.

The Sneaker

The sneakers are crafted using renewable materials, including its canvas uppers and bio-based foam footbeds. It will release in what the brand calls a “Stormy Weather” grey colour.

The shoe is adorned with hand-drawn artwork with a midsole message that reads: “one foot in front of the other.”

Hanai is known for his collaborations with Uniqlo as well as Nixon, Chari&Co and Acme Furniture.

How to Buy a Pair

A pre-sale party will be held at Vans Harajuku, where buyers can cop a pair ahead of its global release. The event will feature live music and a DJ set.
