UK rapper Arz locks eyes with emotion, packing a melody of expressive sentiment sampling from different decades
Arz continues to build momentum through a much lauded discography that appeases both critics and fans alike.
Piercing his microphone through a scene that’s only just starting to gather pace, the rapper is quietly building a following both on and offline. His musical expression taps a spectrum of genres which brings us to his new album, Love Letters 2.
What Love Letters 2 Sounds Like
It’s been described as a lo-fi project, but the sonic foundations for such a sound aren’t quite met. A more fitting description would be melodic drill than the aforementioned.

Featuring an attractive array of production techniques, he curates and employs the use of varying acoustic sounds. Equally, mixed percussion patterns hit, including snares that are delectably placed throughout.
Featuring the already released single Similar Vibes/Cinema Girl, the aural flow remains compact and punches into the way the artist feels.
Arz embraces transparent vulnerability, a contextually rampant theme throughout. As he traverses narratives that his audience can fully appreciate, his lyrical adroitness veers into the authentic over simile laden structures. Wearing his heart on his sleeve, its relatability fetches a bold, topical stance that connects with listeners through genuine stories.
The Verdict
The rapper is adept at the topic at hand, separating himself from the genre that has, of late, become bland. Arz doesn’t step into a bear trap of piggybacking on his contemporaries, as others have; instead he owns his emotions and this serves as the lynchpin for this personal project. Overall it’s a chill album, though a little too short and over before it’s properly begun.
