Drake returns with new single, What Did I Miss? taking aim at disloyal friends and fans. Produced by Gyz and Patron, it fields a stripped back melodic snare driven composition supported by synths.
What Did I Miss? is the Definition of Boring
Drizzy calls out perceived backstabbers as he reflects upon a whirlwind of events, going so far as to threaten violence, delivering bars akin to dad-joke-like quality: “get punched in the face on some TLC sh**, on the dead guys / Some TLC sh**… you gon’ need a chilly ice pack for your left eye.”
This was a chance for the rapper to return to his roots and to ditch the banality of autotune. Instead, he embraces the constipated robot persona once more.

Addressing his circle, he responds to disloyalty: “better not ask for no favours,” followed by a monotonously recurring, “let’s go,” before subtle digs referring to Kendrick Lamar’s “Pop Out” and their beef zip through the air.
The Verdict
Drake has been releasing the same music for the past ten years or so. When new work drops, it can feel like you’re losing your mind. How can such mediocre material be so well received?
Groundhog Day is upon us again, and it’s been years since sounds of substance hit our eardrums. The rapper is like a morning bird — same song, no change.
It’s been a long time since he offered any form of compositional brilliance. Put quite simply, it’s a tawdry effort lacking aha moments and originality.
Something is clearly not working in the Toronto artist’s camp, and if he’s to release a new album, it has to be better than this.
