New music delivers a gritty track featuring vernacular panache from the UK rap duo

High Focus Records pair Verbz & Mr Slipz are back with a bang, changing gears on new single ‘Switch Lanes.’

Switch Lanes Sounds Like the City

Featuring a palette of pure boom-bap power beats, both its accompanying visuals and production are audibly built for a cityscape soundtrack.

Both are effortlessly at their best, as Verbz threads melodious verses over grainy loops with sulphuric bars. As they traverse music of an attractive granular disposition, their decision to curate dusty notes is as clean as it gets.

Highly reminiscent of skateboard video aesthetics, it will be great to see this represented on such a canvas. Oozing a London-esque sound, it’s another example of the rapper’s pen power and Mr Slipz’s sensitive ears. High Focus Records are drowning in hip-hop talent.

Verbz is the Gold Standard Rapper

Verbz has continuously pushed against a vacuum of soul sucking music. His flow is both polished and raw at the same time, letting loose a barrage of surface to air rhymes that constitute the gold standard in rap.

The London lyricist should always be in the conversation of top tier rhyming, and this new single proves that once again. From the kernel to the root, both he — and Mr Slipz — can damage egos.
