Hip-hop hurricane: the rapper is joined by Raf Almighty on a Pete Twist beat
Last updated: 27th July 2025
Jay Royale is still punching below its weight, and it’s a damaging sting to a rapper’s ego to hear. As an incredible soldier of the game, his wordplay is backed up by a delivery the culture surely cannot contain anymore?
His latest track, Lord of the Flies, drops with Raf Almighty as they open up the floodgates for a broody, neat, head bopping hip-hop fire.
Lord of the Flies is a Sonic Wonder
Everything from the impeccable production by Pete Twist, to the poetry of each spitter simply rolls into the brain with comfort. Royale divests his creation like he’s shedding skin with each bar — it’s an immaculate renewal and confidence he needs no test for.

It’s an instant war anthem as he smashes verses alongside an equally skilled Raf Almighty. Both artists scatter words like there’s an incoming invasion — an encompassing yet passive spectacle of brain-to-pen miscible effects.
The Verdict
When the notifications spin on my phone and in my email box for this crew, excitement permeates the air — this time is no different, and it’s another thumbs up from me. I’m still waiting for a bad track from Jay, and I’ll be first in line to watch him tear up London. Let’s hope a show is coming soon.
