Latest album follows a whirlwind of hip-hop art and electric rap

Mick Jenkins latest album will be titled “A Murder of Crows,” recorded in collaboration with prolifically gifted producer, Emil.
We all knew it was coming, and it’s now official — it wasn’t so much a secret as an open one. Following a string of incredibly dope music, it was time the lyricist spat out what he was working on. The partnership between the spitter and beat maker was a clear statement — one we’re glad blossomed into a long play project.
The Album Title
A Murder of Crows is the collective name for a group of Corvus birds — a somewhat odd, but interesting title for the genus.

These often sinister-sounding names can be traced back to the 15th century, when hunting manuals catalogued groups of animals in what is commonly known as ‘terms of venery.’
Crows are often linked to bad omens such as death and witchcraft. But the definition has evolved as time passed.
These descriptions were mostly recorded in The Book of St. Albans (1486), and were particularly popular with the aristocracy. This makes Emil & Jenkins’ adoption of the title all the more interesting, and how it will thematically play out in their music.
So far, everything the hip-hop artists have released has been in keeping with the visual aesthetics at hand. Based on available material, it appears to feed back into the album artwork, in what appears to be a monochromatic style.
The Artwork
Featuring strokes of abstract composition, the artwork was crafted by Cam Small. It brings to life a nefarious scene, with what looks to be the chalk outline of a man swarmed by crows.

Release Date and Tracklist
The album is slated for a 19th September 2025 release date exclusively for digital purchases on Even.
Streaming options will be available from the 10th October. Features and song names are not yet available, though we do know 11 tracks are set to be published.
