Westside Gunn (real name Alvin Lamar Worthy) continues his form of dropping music with consistency, featuring garish lyrics and a penchant for the dramatic. His fresh EP Heels Have Eyes 2 was unveiled today, the sequel to his April release.

While this project holds significance, it doesn’t differ much from the initial blueprint. Though his wordplay retains its impressive punchlines and flair, the continuity floats into the spectrum of repeat, boxed-product. The bigger picture is perhaps lost.
The production is nightmaringly brilliant, flawless even. But while Gunn continues to paint the same lyrical canvas with the same brush — skilled, but stale — the buyers aren’t fussed.
