JID – “Community” ft Clipse
JID has been on a hardcore tour, both digitally and with plans to traverse the globe for an upcoming world tour. His latest music video for Community teams up with rap group Clipse. It paints an eye opening depiction of his home city of Atlanta. Featuring portraits of locals, its architecture and company, it’s a fascinatingly well crafted music video that does well to accent the rapper’s cadence and storytelling talent.
Ella Mai – “Tell Her”
Ella Mai returns with another slow-jam ballad produced by long-time friend and collaborator Mustard (of Kendrick fame). The track sees Ella assert her thoughts on the topic of potential infidelity involving the proximity of former partners that may consume relationships.
Kneecap – “Sayonara” ft Paul Hartnoll
Bringing a hoard of energy to the fray, the controversial Irish rap group Kneecap used Sayonara as a catalyst to create rave moments at global festivals. In collaboration with Orbital’s Paul Hartnoll, it’s an electrifying listen featuring retro remnants replete with the frenetic expositions.
Blood Orange – “Countryside” ft Eva Tolkin, Liam Benzvi & Ian Isiah
Soulful, soft and vibrantly rich, Countryside is a nourishing work of satisfying music. Through its reflective narrative on the intensity of urbanised chaos, Blood Orange provides a voice for those of us in need of respite from mordor-like cities. Not only does it represent an escapism we drift to, but its music video is a kind of derivative for the notions we keep.
Maxo – “IDK”
Maxo‘s latest track IDK provides us with a trippy yet satisfying adventure, with what appear to be trips all over the place, including to London. It’s an introspective piece featuring wildly matching vocals to a hi-hat driven snare fest of melodic blues, stretched over a noisy, etherous soundscape.
