JAAS, Kanye and North West also contribute to Combs’ new song
Amidst the fall out from his father’s — Sean Diddy Combs —- trial, his son, Christian, better known as King Combs releases the video for Lonely Roads, chronicling familial support through the court case.
On the one hand, the son of a polarising figure makes him inseparable from his father. However, the release of his June EP Never Stop lays bare where his allegiances lie, with a not so subtle nod to his Dad’s catchphrase.

Ye also handled its production, with the hook performed by JAAS. “Lonely Roads” adopts a typical Bad Boy approach, exemplified in not just its lyrics, but the music too.
Sonically, it sees a return to form for Kanye, featuring stripped back percussion and a haunting melody. However, Combs’ delivery is a standardised flow with little variation in need of tweaking. As a collaboration, it signals what it aims to achieve, though is still light as a finish article, lacking a solid presence to be remembered.
The Verdict
JAAS’s vocals help to buoy the joint though in its entirety, it’s a patchy composition thanks to its pacing, lifted only by the producer’s touch.
If anything, it’s a brief disjointed piece meant to be a statement, but overall, one of confusion and disbelief on wax.
