Alternative UK rapper, Emmeline, continues to thrive in a space of cogitation on new track, 2BY2
We are big fans of Emmeline, and her latest single is another reason why. Her new rap song, 2BY2, is taken from the upcoming EP LIFTGOINGUP, and is another feather in her poetic cap.
Existential Reflections
The track dives into a deepening narrative on spatial existentialism, in what the rapper describes as a “twangy, meditative” peace of music.
“Bolder than the ballet, and situations past
Passing pretty rhymes and pennies
Through the slotting of a mask”
Through its use of soft but cutting plucks of a guitar, Emmeline’s gourmet lyrics help us feel part of the story. Its sentiments lie between feelings of stagnant desires and the hope of bringing new ways of being into play.

The artist herself says: “It’s about moving through life with different people by your side, who unlock new things within you.”
Verdict
It’s the result of a process the rapper has quilled into a tonality of inscrutable understanding. Doused in a personal trial we can all connect with thanks to its broad range of metaphorical direction.
