The actress made the remarks on a press tour for her new movie
Jennifer Lawrence expressed her frustrations towards the suffering in Gaza as nothing short of a “genocide”.
The Silver Linings Playbook star was categorical about her feelings on the situation.
Lawrence Comments on Gaza
In a panel Q&A for her new film Die, My Love, the actress said:
“I’m terrified. It’s mortifying. What’s happening is no less than a genocide and it’s terrible.”
“What makes me so sad is the disrespect in the discourse of American politics right now and how that is going to be normalized to the kids right now,” adding: “It’s going to be normal to them that politicians lie”
Lawrence made her concerns known during a press tour at the San Sebastián Film Festival. According to sources, a panel moderator attempted to shut down questions about politics, though the American performer was comfortable talking about Palestine.
