Racism and bigotry in the UK are out of control, and little is being done to stop it

While Robert Jenrick is on the defensive, so too are the Conservatives. Their leader, Kemi Badenoch, claims his comments were simply an observation, and there is “nothing wrong” with that. She’s wrong. There’s only so much a person can get away with, and pointing out “I haven’t seen a white face for a while” is, quite simply — vile.
We’re now living in a time where it’s a race for racism, where backwards minds are fighting to express that they were the biggest racist all along. It’s a devastating time for people of colour, especially. Who can we trust, and who can we go to for help? We’re slowly moving towards a place beyond polarisation — where racism and bigotry are normalised by everyday Brits. Jenrick, Tories and the Reform Party is a testament to that.

How on earth can you represent a diverse nation of people and speak with such a revolting tongue? That he is a member of the Tories is an indictment of his character; their beliefs have always been regressive. The very definition of Conservativism is to refrain from political progress, and it is perhaps one of many reasons for the country’s stifled economy.
Integration Comments
Jenrick has failed to apologise for comments which are indefensible. His party’s track record and rhetoric, both past and present, are a problem for not only unity, but also, social stability.
Jenrick said:
“I want to live in a country which is well integrated. I want people to be living side-by-side, I never want to see segregated or even ghettoised communities. We want people of all skin colours, of all religions, to be living in harmonious, well-integrated communities with our kids growing up alongside each other.”
Speaking on Newsnight, his colleague, the former mayor of the West Midlands, Andy Street, rebuked his speech:

“It’s actually a very integrated place. If you go along the main streets there, you will see Sikhs, Hindus, Muslims, Christians, a lot of them of African and Caribbean origin, and of course, white people as well. It is actually one of the most successfully integrated place. Brilliant civic society, brilliant faith leadership.”
Who on earth is defining integration? What does that even mean? Why is the sight of people of colour a sign of segregation to him? If he stepped outside of his Postman Pat town, he might just witness reality, not a stereotype.
Not everyone has to love a pint down the local or enjoy a day at the races. Because, let’s face it, these are the ideals they subscribe to — an old dusty book of tales from a time that never truly existed for anyone, not then and not today.
The Conservatives Are Living in A Fantasy
What does he want us to do? Is this his idea of a modern Britain – a top hat and monocle-wearing, horse-riding fantasy land where we all smile through moustaches like a cartoon? Their ideas of integration are boring, outdated worldviews, based upon a persisting notion of Pride and Prejudice flights of fancy.
Do us a favour – the next time you decide to go to war with the very people whose views you now share, rebuild your own country. Before you seek a so-called correction of society, first confront the racism and bigotry within your own party.
