New single features Jay Worthy and Tay Jordan in a hip-hop track with edge
Sonnyjim finally drops new track, The Real Thing, featuring Jay Worthy and Tay Jordan, with production by Morriarchi. The song is the lead single taken from his forthcoming album slated for a November release.
“The Real Thing”: Review and Verdict
For two days running, we’ve been on the receiving end of some impressive hip-hop. Today’s showcase comes courtesy of the Brummie rapper who’s determination to turn the scene on its head, sees him mix old-school and new-school vibes.
Sonnyjim’s recognisable flow opens The Real Thing with musings on his family’s drug links and aspirations for acclaim, specifically his desire for an “Emmy like Riz MC”.

There’s some eclectic autotune at play in the chorus, and whoever performs it, does well not to sound like a constipated robot — as is the case with contemporary artists — something that is inadvertently executed.
The track is smooth, with crisp vocals delivered to his usual seminal expectation alongside Jay Worthy and Tay Jordan. The pageantry of the delivery complements the production’s early-1990s style, a sonically entrancing work by Morriachi, who stacks an impressive beat suited to all involved.
Through a moderate tempo, the trio work an apathetically vibing tune that is hard to hate, easy to love.
