Rare mainstream sound from the UK fuses westside beats on “Last Days”
Rappers Blacksmith and Westside Boogie connect the UK and the US for new track, Last Days, with an accompanying throwback visual captured in LA.
Sound Breakdown
The Bristol-born rapper took to the skies, landing in LA to partner the track with a music video in LA, as the two fill the air with their take on life.
His latest single features reflective piano keys and a nostalgic chorus by an unknown singer. Its delivery provides a throwback style that works for the production, given its location and history. Joining him is Westside Boogie, who exemplifies the westside style and equally delivers a relaxed execution in his typical simmering style.
When asked for comment on the track, the rapper said: “…it’s about having faith things will work out instead of fearing they won’t. Even the way the track came together – produced by It’s Nyce, who reached out on Instagram, and Westside Boogie joining after a simple story tag – shows that when you’re working toward the right goals, things slowly fall into place. That’s the heart of the song”.
