Zohran Mamdani Set To Secure a Monumental Victory As New York Mayor

Despite a smear campaign, Zohran Mamdani is predicted to win by a landslide

With several tabloids and newspapers fighting the installation of what is expected to be New York’s first Muslim mayor, Zohran Mamdani is poised to become just that.

Zehra’s Mandani has shown an incredible talent for debates.

Having shown the integrity and courage to follow his campaign to the end, the NY native is expected to prove once again that the impossible is but a stepping stone to greater things.

Progressive Policies

His progressive stance on politics and an unwavering dedication to the city have been nothing short of inspirational. These policies include:

  • Building 200,000 new affordable housing units (over ten years)
  • Intensifying rent freezes to prevent large hikes, and protections for tenants in unsafe housing conditions
  • Make the City University of New York tuition-free and more accessible
  • Increase the minimum wage to $30 per hour (by 2030)
  • Increase more after-school programmes
  • Introduce a free bus service and city-run grocery stores (to combat inflation)
  • Raise the corporate tax rate
  • Restructuring the NYPD: introduce separate departments to handle issues such as mental‑health crises, homelessness outreach, traffic)

Racism and Prejudice

Opponents of Mamdani sought to undermine his campaign through a targeted, religiophobic, and racist agenda. He has also received death threats, and said in a statement: “I get messages that say the only good Muslim is a dead Muslim.”

Zohran Mandan gives emotional address on anti-Muslim attacks.

New York City councilwoman Vickie Paladino described the Mayoral hopeful as a “known jihadist terrorist” and “communist”.

In a separate incident, Chair of the House Republican Conference representative Elise Stefanik called him a “Hamas terrorist sympathizer” while Rep. Andrew Ogles (R-Tennessee) referred to Mr Mamdani as “little Muhammad”.

Late political podcaster and social media influencer Charlie Kirk said, “24 years ago, a group of Muslims killed 2,753 people on 9/11. Now a Muslim Socialist is on pace to run New York City”.

Polling Turnaround

The New York Times predicts Mr Madami to win by a landslide. In May, Andrew Cuomo held an insurmountable lead, with Zohran Mamdani polling at a mere 18% approval rating. Fast forward to today, he now holds an astonishing 45% to 24% advantage.

What is sure to rattle the cages of his opponents is his refusal to resign. New York City would be fortunate to have a mayor with such a relentless drive to deliver on his promises. He remains focused on improving the lives of his constituents — unlike his predecessors.
