“For No Reason” brings an enormous beat of pounding fire, and then there’s Sexyy Red‘s input
Last updated: 14th November 2025
There is a time and a place for Sexxy Red, but if she doesn’t evolve soon, audiences will tire of the same output and rushed finishes. It’s a difficult listen, but there’s something in there if she can find the time to carve it into something worthwhile. Her latest track, For No Reason, is a banger — if she let someone else spit over it.
Review and Verdict
Red lands in a puddle of trite lyricism, bolstered by lacklustre creativity. While its production is crafted with precision and drama featuring 808s, rolling bells and thumping bass, Red’s vocals, lyrics, and delivery are out of time and lacking substance. It sounds like as if it were dragged from the leftovers of a drunken studio session, with little merit or ingenuity for what it proposes.
While some might describe it as unapologetic, is this really the mark of quality? While I appreciate her enthusiasm, there’s plenty of music like this on the shelf, with alternatives in wide supply.
