Kloyd‘s latest is just as incredible as her previous works, and the Yorkshire-based musician continues this feat on her new song Girl. It is filled with a wistful, homecoming-like notion of relationship indulgence.
Review and Verdict
There’s a sense of validation when music is performed with passion. Riveting tracks often announce themselves through purpose and energy, which only deepens with time. In 2025, however, we’ve been overwhelmed with releases that feel and sound plastic—as if mass-produced and shipped straight from the assembly line.

Kloyd refuses to do this, and instead opts to cook from her own kiln, shaping vocals that encase us in an ethereal experience that she says documents a “…love so captivating it feels like magic and turmoil at the same time that I wanted to exude into this,” and that, when she finished the track, she would “walk around after making it playing it in my headphones seeing women walking in their stride and think someone out there loves them deeply.”
Girl is an ode to the intense introductions of imposing first impressions and the lasting impact they have on us, through a chorally sun-dappled finish. Kloyd‘s vocals are memorably effective and sentimental, with a twist of melancholy, and its repeatability is without question.
