Central Cee’s new song Booga is the same old track, reveling in its destitute style
Central Cee is back with another track, Booga, a typical Cench track with a sliding pace that will sink into the charts with no filter. With production by Roddy Beats, Arthur Bean, Young Chencs and Smokey Jam, the track is complemented by a music video featuring appearances from Skepta, and FinesseKid.
Review and Verdict
Featuring metallic snares and the timbre of drill, Central Cee yet again produces a parody of himself. Rapping in a delayed, almost sluggish manner, not only is his vision lacking, but my will to listen to it.
It’s the same song, again and again, from the West London rapper. With little complexity derived in the writing process, it renders his latest song forgettable.
His album was an ephemeral listen, delivering little worth deconstructing. Booga effuses the same energy, catalysed by a perfect communication. The real artist here is his marketing team.
