Levi Strauss & Co. acquired the original Einstein leather jacket at an auction in 2016

Levi’s have launched a reissue of the original Menlo Cossack leather jacket produced in the 1930s. The piece is a limited edition run priced accordingly.

Background
Albert Einstein originally wore the jacket on his arrival to the United States, believed to have been purchased in Europe where it was widely available.




Just like the original jacket, it’s composed of genuine sheep leather in a slim box-cut fit with a rounded stand collar. It also features adjustable collar straps and button cuffs.
Levi’s originally acquired the jacket at a Christie’s auction in 2016. Retailing at £1,095.00, it is available as a “member exclusive” in golden brown only.
