New UK rap from Digga D, ‘Nonchalant’, sounds like yesterday’s hype
As popular as he is, that isn’t what carries talent. While there’s a staunch following of the rapper, Digga D’s latest track Nonchalant featuring Hunch is a disservice not only to himself but also to his fans.
Review and Verdict
Nonchalant is brimming with standardised verses and nothing to write home about. Ironically, the track is a warning to his opponents, though it’s full of cliché lyrics and done-before tropes. It’s a monotonous Sunday-afternoon humdrum where a flow state has led him down a path of routine.
Sonically it’s the same story, with a toned down conveyor belt sound. The UK needs a new direction, because the compass is malfunctioning.
