A series of “next generation” digital billboards are creeping out occupants of apartment blocks with intrusive features. Advertising group 30Seconds Group installed a series of technology products that films their reactions of residents.
30Seconds Group Responds
The company’s pitch to potential customers says:
“With an average dwell time of 30 seconds, our screens provide ample time for viewers to absorb your message. This extended interaction allows for deeper engagement, making it an ideal platform for delivering impactful and memorable advertising content.”
Many have exclaimed disbelief at the installations across 126 sites housing 50,000 people. Campaign groups have voiced concerns at the lack of privacy and the potential for new technology to overreach.
30Seconds Group managing director Jesse Liu rebuffed backlash saying:
“Our strongest selling point is that we know who our audience is. All our displays are integrated with cameras so we can get the demographic data and also track the occupant engagement.”
