Canadian rapper Drake appears to be gearing up for a new 2025 album. Here’s what you need to know
Drake is teasing cryptic images on social media again, posting like real heads care—and, for some reason, people still do. It appears he still has some major pull. I assume this is mostly with 2000s pop genre lovers, though I could be wrong. Following his forgettable clash with Kendrick Lamar, his ego has since had a few layers shaved off.
Despite sounding like a constipated robot with chronic diarrhoea—all at once—the rapper has found motivation to strain through it. So, whoever you are, here’s what you need to know about the Toronto rapper’s upcoming album.
Iceman: What We Know About Drake’s New Music
Well, not in those exact words, but it appears his upcoming solo project will be titled Iceman—likely a nod to the slang use of the word “cold,” or perhaps something else. He’s offered listeners multiple interpretations for what it could mean. Perhaps it’s all of them.
These hints are being posted to his burner account on Instagram, plottttwistttttt, featuring references to the Top Gun character ‘Iceman,’ portrayed by the late Val Kilmer, and Finnish F1 driver Kimi Räikkönen. This alludes to a thematic bridge of remaining cool under pressure.
“100 Gigs” Folder
Alongside his social media posts, the rapper/singer shared behind-the-scenes footage from the Nothing Was the Same era, along with unreleased material featuring Popcaan.

The folder also included recordings from OVO Fest. In light of these disclosures, it could also mean the upcoming release will be a compilation album rather than a full studio album.
Release Date
Given these series of events, there’s no concrete release date, though the project will likely drop soon. His cryptic posts hint that something is coming sooner rather than later—potentially between now and next week.
Final Thoughts
Despite being knocked down a peg or two, it appears there’s still life in the old dog yet. However, don’t expect a miraculous resurrection of thought. Given the rapper’s decline in artistic integrity, we may get more of the same. Hey—perhaps that could be the title of a future album? Part One: Nothing Was The Same. Part Two: More of the Same.
