EsDeeKid Spears UK Rap With Spine on Energy Driven ‘Omens’

Masked UK rapper EsDeeKid releases new track “Omens”

It’s refreshing to hear music that reflects the harmony and build of its message rather than adhering to the constraints of a restrictively forced language. I was not expecting to enjoy the works of EsDeeKid, but I’m somewhat pleasantly surprised by his consistency and the brute contagion of his lyrics as he releases his latest single, “Omens”.

The UK Rap Artist Maintains Momentum

Having been less than impressed with the exploits of his counterpart, Fakemink, it was wrong of me to paint collaborators with the same brush. His latest track, Omens, is buoyed by spongy bass and springy flows that eject a regularity the rapper continues to improve upon.

The production, crafted by beat makers Cppo, Toom and Wasa, is foreboding yet compulsively re-listenable. EsDeeKid serves a spirited churn of wordplay that only he can contest, and while its style holds an idiosyncrasy within the wider soundscape of rap, it isn’t technical proficiency that lifts the boulder from its trap, but rhythm and musical frequency. The only critique would be its short durations.

Embossed with spear-like synths, its tremendous basslines, accompanied by a medieval music video courtesy of Archie Erskine make this a recyclable canvas of UK rap. This, of course, is a testament to his global count of one billion streams, 22 million listeners, and a dedicated fan base. He is now rumoured to have signed a multi-million record contract.
