‘Icon’: Brent Faiyaz Gives Thrilling Announcement on New Album

Fans are excited as R&B singer Brent Faiyaz reveals alternative artwork, tracklist, and more

Brent Faiyaz announces his new album Icon, the first since 2022’s ‘Wasteland‘, following delays and behind-the-scenes trouble. This time the release appears set to drop on schedule, with a new cinematic trailer and the reveal of official artwork. The long play already includes the single “Have To“, giving insight into what we can expect from his latest work.

Artwork and Concept

When revealing artwork for the album, the singer simply stated: “Went crazy & came back with this.”

Following the release of Have To, the singer disclosed his inspiration for the album, saying:

“This next chapter is about elevation – sonically, visually, and personally,” … “Everything I’ve learned until this point led me here. With ‘have to.,’ I wanted to strip things down and get honest, to create a space where vulnerability meets confidence. It’s about embracing who I am now, without compromise, and sharing that journey with people who’ve been riding with me since day one.”

Album Production

The album’s production is handled by a mix of producers, including Brent Faiyaz himself, former Neptunes beatmaker Chad Hugo, and the legendary Raphael Saadiq, who also serves as the project’s executive producer. See the full list below.

Release Date and Format Details

Icon is set to be released on the 13th February 2026, and will include physical copies in CD and cassette formats. However, vinyl will not be included.
