Review and Verdict

Govt. Sanctioned is yet another reminder of the quality of work being released from LLR, among a fresh portfolio set to demand respect from 2026 onward. Flowing with time-worn drums and an epoch-elapsed atmosphere, rapper Brotherman recalls the difficulties of life as a mixed-race person.

Highlighting facets that are cantankerously built to oppose and divide, he takes on a system founded on racism through his art and pen-driven skill. Taking to Peney’s production with retrospective transparency, the duo mesmerise the listener beyond literalism, binding perspicacious wordplay through rich scores of ingenuity. This is rap at its best with a musical broth of equal standard.
