Crocs and LEGO gamble on hideous new clog

Crocs have gone mad again with the reveal of a new collaboration with LEGO. The partnership was announced along with images of their first drop, and I have to warn you, it’s not pretty.
The Clog You Will Hide
Crocs have always been the slider of comfort, though its footwear comes with a health risk for some. Already an abomination of fashion, the company has often released limited and special edition clogs. This usually entails adding decorative artefacts with just enough to differentiate it from its main line.
That’s all about to change with the arrival of their collaboration with LEGO, and it’s very ugly. Not only will you be forced to pay upwards of $200 for one set, but they’re stingy enough to give away a free mini-figure…if you buy four pairs. What’s incredibly shocking about this detail is, they give away toys in officially licensed magazines at a cost of $10.
In a statement, the giant toy brick maker said:
“The LEGO Group’s boundless imagination makes them the perfect match to Crocs’ wonderfully unordinary spirit,”
“We are both brands that pride ourselves in being built different, in celebrating self-expression and in fueling creativity. I can’t wait for our fans to see what we’re creating together – we’ve truly broken the mold in a way that we never have before.”
The Verdict
The brick clog will be purchased by the same people who thought the Astro Boy boot is incredible. Yep, there’s a market for everything, and sometimes, it doesn’t matter how dysfunctional or terrifyingly awful it looks — if there’s an endorsement, common sense is thrown out the window. If you want to buy these, fair enough, but do the rest of us a favour, wear them indoors.
