De La Soul & Nas prove the craft of rap is still alive on their new single, “Run It Back”
Without showing any signs of slowing down, they’re teaching the new school that their brand of hip-hop is more relevant than ever, with an extra something-something thrown in for good measure. This one will keep you warm through the winter. Legendary rappers De La Soul and Nas drop a fresh music video for “Run It Back!!“, taken from De La’s latest album, Cabin In The Sky, and a welcome comeback project for the Amityville rappers.
Speaking on the track, group member Posdnuos said: “We egg each other on, we inspire each other. I invited Nas on the track! I can’t slack, he’s Nas!” He later added: “The energy around that record is so amazing.”
The swing of the pen is once again mighty on this one, with the three rappers effortlessly dropping bars of scorching-hot heat over a Supa Dave West production, which uses a sample of The Police’s “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” but flips it in reverse. “Run It Back!!” is much more than just another song; each spitter exhibits just how talented they were, are, and continue to be.
